Here is how it works.

Items for sale are not owned by the store. People in the area place the items on 'K'onsignment with the store. An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. We initially set a fair price for the item and expose it to our customers in the store and online. Over time, if the item is not selling we will begin to reduce the price and take reasonable offers until it does sell.
